Heya!
First, let me say
thanks for taking the time to check out my art. You
rock!
I am a self-taught, self-representing artist. I only recently started
painting, in 2004, with the encouragement of my friend and former teacher
Edward Ingle, an incredible artist in his own right, to whom I owe so
much .
So, I am a Texan. No,
I don't have a horse. Yes, I have ridden one. No, I don't talk funny.
Yes, I say y'all, but that isn't talking "funny" in my
book. No, I have no relatives in the oil business. Yes, I like
cowboy hats. And NO, I have no frikkin idea who shot Jr.!!! I was too
young to watch Dallas! At the moment, I live in San Antonio, so
please, don't talk to me about hot weather because here, hot means both
HOT and HUMID! Seriously, despite my desire to travel and see everything I possibly can
before I kill over (I would die to see Ireland and Scotland and hope I
get that chance in this lifetime) the rolling hills and red sunsets of my home state
will always have a hold on my heart no matter
how far I roam.
I am the mother of one
mischievous little monster. He makes life both interesting and
challenging but he's my world. He's a total gearhead and will probably
grow up to actually use the wrenches he teethed on. LOL
I know many of you will
probably stone me for this, but I am a dog person. LOL I like cats, too!
I just prefer a big farting, snoring, slobbering, bad-breathed
bundle of fur, that outweighs me by a ton, to sleep by my side. o.O
Wait, did I say I actually prefer this??? LOL Just kidding. For the
moment, I am lacking in the furry child department. My beautiful English
Mastiff, Beaux, passed on last year and he is sorely missed, especially,
at night, when it comes time to sit out on the deck to stare up at
the moon and stars and dream.
As far as things I
enjoy, I like to have fun, I have been known to jump off a cliff or two.
I like riding dirtbikes and I have no aversion to their street ready
counterparts or the crazy long haired men who can usually be found
riding them. LOL *drool* Oh, sorry, back to reality. I like to read, everything from the classics like Byron, Poe,
and Goethe to paranormal romance (who doesn't want a vampire or werewolf
for a lover?) and all things in between. Oh yeah, and highlanders!
Seriously? Gimmie a hot man in a skirt with a big sword and a thick
Scottish brogue and I am all putty. I like variety. My bookshelves
are cluttered with fantasy, poetry, history and religion. I love old
school shows like The Munsters, The Addams Family, I Love Lucy, I adore
Abbot and Costello. My favorite movie would be a tie between Lord of the
Rings and Braveheart. I of course love Star wars, do you see a pattern
here? People wielding swords and I am a happy girl! Did I mention I like
pirates???
Music? I love Danzig,
the Misfits, Samhain, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC,
Audioslave, Aerosmith, Pantera, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, HIM and
the like. I really do like a large assortment of music and I don't
really stick to any one genre. I like opera, I like some country, I love
classic rock and of course I listen to hard rock. I grew up on bands
like Charged GBH, the Exploited, Filth and One Way System. I will listen
to just about anything, except rap.
